Texture Border is characterized by a thick, lightly jagged border around photos and textured backgrounds. There is a multi-photo cover and inside flap, the standard three introduction pages, chapter page, maps page, blank page, and one-, two-, three-, and four-photo layouts. Text is set in the Didot font by default. Because Texture Border's interior page layouts are practically identical to Simple Border's layouts, I have not repeated them here.
The only changes to the Texture Border layout in iPhoto '09 are the addition of three introduction (or text) pages and the ability to create maps. As far as I can tell, everything else has remained the same.
The Texture Border theme offers five pseudo-textured backgrounds for the outside and adds the Photo Background option (formerly Palm Tree) to let you use any image you want for the background of the inside pages.
Texture Border offers a full-bleed photo, a large single photo and a three-photo layout for the cover. If you choose a large photo, the original orientation is maintained and also determines the placement of the title and subheader: on the right for a vertical photo and on top for a horizontal one:
The three-photo layout has one large vertical frame on the left, and two medium horizontals stacked on the right. The title and subheader are at the top of the cover.
Texture Border and Simple Border (and Line Border) offer almost exactly the same interior page layouts, except for the obvious borders and background differences. However, I did notice one more significant difference. If you have a four-photo layout, you can have one vertical photo with three horizontals, and have the vertical photo on the right-hand side (which is not possible with Simple Border and Line Border). In addition, when you have stacked photos, the borders converge.
